3 Seductive Factors About Cute Anime Plushie

3 Seductive Factors About Cute Anime Plushie

The Cute Factor

The is a scientific reason why we find something cute and adorable. This is known as the cute factor.

That feeling you get when you find something simply adorable. It makes you stop what you are doing and reflect.

1.The Pyschological Factor

There have been many studies on this and All good stuff makes us nuts, and if we didn’t know why we’ll be bad scientists. Researchers explored brain activity while viewing adorable baby images.

The baby is the so-called “Nucleus Accumbens,” the more the source of pleasure activates.

The pinch causes a blast in the play heart – a pleasant dopamine-induced sensation.

Cuteness research is more evolutionary and fascinating than you might think.

Is it evolutionary?

Evolving psychology questions why other and repulsive features are attractive. Such behaviours were adaptive in our ancestors, although this may seem subjective and elusive. It’s fun thinking, definitely.

Babies haven’t grown sweet. We’ve grown to think babies are good.

Cuteness is a difficult way for adults to cultivate impulses that look like a cute infant.

Naturally, older babies are less healthy. Yet evolution is completed by then. It’s cute! It’s good, though.

I’ve been “using” adorable … Sigh! Sigh!

2. The Communication Factor

Characteristics of cuteness may be communicated by humans and non-humans, like cartoons. This experience blends organic with emotional.

We established strong inclinations for features such as big heads, broad face eyes, small nose and soft round bodies.

That may be one explanation why our pet dogs and cats look very different from their angry ancestors — we made them beautiful.

We chose these animals for their young characteristics, unstable behaviour and childlike features.

The explanation for our nice or nasty animals is that we use evolving standards to help us determine our own species members.

Baby animals are cute because it turns on the cute factor response in our brains. With a slow sigh of “ooohhh isn’t she so cute” when we stand in wonder at the big, round head of a human child.

That’s why we don’t respond the same way as looking at the strange looks of an ant eater.

Beauty (here cuteness) lies in the eyes of the beholder.

Scientific evidence suggests our biology contributes to our taste.

3.The Touch Factor

A review of research, conducted by Tiffany Field, a leader in the field of touch, found that preterm newborns who received just three 15-minute sessions of touch therapy each day for 5-10 days gained 47 percent more weight than premature infants who’d received standard medical treatment.

Similarly, research by Darlene Francis and Michael Meaney has found that rats whose mothers licked and groomed them a lot when they were infants grow up to be calmer and more resilient to stress, with a stronger immune system.

This research sheds light on why, historically, an overwhelming percentage of humans babies in orphanages where caretakers starved them of touch have failed to grow to their expected height or weight, and have shown behavioral problems.

So you see there is an important touch component to cute plushies. If out of all the factor I choose to be the most important would be the touch factor.

11 Recycled Plastic Bottles Creates Quality Plushie

Resoftables Pty Ltd manufactures plush toys with 100 % recycled plastic bottles.

I could not help but notice ReSoftables plush toys in the catalog for Toy Universe (Aust).

Resoftables has an awesome commitment to the environment. Demonstrated in their marketing strategy, each label prints the number of recycled plastic bottles it takes to create each plush toy.

Australia has been successful in launching a number of popular plush toys. For example, Boccetta Plush and Bluey the adventurous blue healer dog.

A ReSoftable kola bear, for example is made from 11 recycled plastic bottles. So who are ReSoftables. Resoftables are distributed by an Australian company called Headstart International Proprietary Limited. This company originates from Oakleah in Victoria, Australia.

Resoftables  Pty Lt manufactures 14-inch plush toys with 100 % recycled material, equal to 11 recycled plastic bottles. Over the next year Head Start claims it will repurpose over one million plastic bottles in the attempt to counter some of the 275 million tonnes of plastic waste produced globally by customers.

The Australian company says that the ultra-soft plush animals are planned and created in order to create “economic and sustainable new generations.”

“Resoftables is one of the most exciting Headstart ventures in 2020,” says Headstart International CEO Andrew Hendy. “We know that our consumers want cost-effective and sustainable goods, and we are ready to enter the market with a healthy and soft recycled plasma.”

Resoftables showcased their product at the Toy Conference this year in Melbourne, Australia.

Resoftables Ted, The Teddy Bear Plush is available at Toy Universe for a price of $26.99. Not only do these toys reduce the world’s carbon footprint but they also feature the softest and cuddliest textures!

Standing at 35cm tall, Teddy the Teddy Bear is an adorable blue plush that your plush-loving child won’t be able to get enough of! Encourage your child to make a conscious effort on how the littlest and cuddliest things can make the biggest difference in the environment.

Environmental Statistics on Plush Toys

Australia is one of the most wasteful countries in the world. We are on of the world’s largest greenhouse gas emitter along with China and the US.

We generate over 6.3 billion tonnes of plastic waste each year. much of it goes into landfill, with only currently 10 % recycled each year. (Aust Bureau of Stat)

Plastic straws and bottles are a huge problem. We thow out over 1 tonne of plastic waste if created every minute. Not many of us recycle. recycled plastic bottles

Australian Bureau of Statistic states that there was a large increase in the proportion of households recycling/reusing cans between 1992 (44%) and 2006 (around 85%). Yet plastic was the material subject to the largest increase in the rate of recycling.

In May 1992, when PET(Polyethylene terephthalate) was the only type of plastic that could be recycled widely in Australia, 37% of households reported recycling plastic. In March 2006, when many types of plastic were being recycled, 97% of households reported having recycled or reused plastic bags or plastic bottles within the previous 12 months.

Australians are improving recycling methods all the time. In 1960’s Clean Up Australia Day was introduced. Our statistics are still very high. Plastics are made to last for ever and they they do. They are in our waterways, rivers, and oceans.

What amazes me is that our children have a better concept of what we are doing to the planet than older generations. How are we desposing of our rubber tyres?  We burn the rubber, the smoke rises into the jet streams in the sky and are carried up in the sky to land on the glaciers.

When summer months hit in the north and south hemispheres, the ice melts and the particles of rubber and  pollution end up in the melting into the waterways and rivers. We are like teenagers where we don’t worry about what happens tomorrow.

What Were We Thinking?

In greek mythology, Prometheus stole fire from Gods and gave it to humans. As Zeus punished Prometheus, the seductive Pandora. Zeus gave Pandora a box. Pandora had been warned not to open the box.

However, when Pandora opened the box, all the evils of the world escaped. Only hope was left inside. This sound awefully familiar lesson that we have learnt.

recycled plastic bottles

I believe that human race have demonstrated the ability of extracating ourselves from profound difficulties once we understand what produces them.

We have to evaluate our lifes and ask are we being pressured by society to how “keep up with the Jones” which cause vast about of waste or  can we make a change in our own lives to have less stuff and create less waste. And you do it with passion and conviction. The alternative is we give up and do nothing.

The Cult of Less

The Cult of Less website is another inspirational project created by New Yorker, Kelly Sutton. He found that the more he owned, the less happier he was. He embarked on a process of selling his possessions that he didnt use. If he hadn’t used it for 12 months, then he sold it.

Kelly travels teaches people extreme decluttering. He moves every 5mths from country to country educating people on how to declutter.

People that follow this line of thinking are extreme declutterers aiming to liberate themselves from attachment to their possessions. This ultimately, they believe leads to true happiness and peace.

Kelly doesn’t really miss the things that he owned. All his possessions can fit in 2 boxed and 2 suit cases. He doesn’t worry about what he has now. He spends his time planning what he wants to do.

recycled plastic bottles

He believes in sustainability. He is happiest when adding to the world something of value that the world can sustain over a long period of time.

We have look at ReSoftables plush toys for children and their unique ideas to recycle manufactured plastic bottles in Australia into toys for children. The toy have met Australian Toy Standards selling a range of plush animals available in Australia and soon to be released in other countries.

We have seen how much waste Australia produces particularly in the form of plastic bottle, straws and bags. We also analysed the benefits of other sustainable projects in the Cult of Less by Kelly Sutton.

My hope is that you we continue recycle at home and support these project by supporting of these great ideas.

Plants V’s Zombies Plush

Plants Vs Zombies

Plants v’s Zombies is a defense and strategy video game developed and originally published by PopCap Games for Windows and iOS in May 2009, and ported to consoles, handhelds, and mobile devices, and in remastered versions for personal computers.

Plants Vs Zombies plush can be purchased by clicking  HERE!

Check with our Toy Standards should you have any concerns about the product.

Plants vs Zombies

In Plant V’s Zombies the player takes the role of a homeowner in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. To defend their home from zombies, some of which have unique abilities, the player uses plants that can fire projectiles at, or have other detrimental effects on the horde of advancing zombies.

Zombies approach along several parallel lanes on the lawn, and the player must plan defenses in these lanes. If a zombie makes it to the house on any lane, the level is over.

Director George Fan was inspired to make the game after playing other tower defense titles and wanting to eliminate the typical strategies of sending advancing enemies through mazes, instead adapting the lane approach to remove this strategy.

Plants v's Zombies

Plants Vs Zombies 2:

Released in 2013 for iOS and Android, Garden Warfare and its sequel in addition to a digital collectible card game,

Players place different types of plants and fungi, each with their own unique offensive or defensive capabilities, around their house, in order to stop a horde of zombies from reaching it.

The playing field is divided into 5 to 6 horizontal lanes, each with lawnmowers, and with rare exceptions, a zombie will move towards the player’s house along one lane only (the main exception is if it has bitten garlic, causing it to move to another lane).

Most plants can attack or defend against zombies in the lane they are planted in only. The game uses several different level types and layouts, each with their own gimmick.plants v's zombies

The game starts out in a front yard and progresses to nighttime levels (sun will not be able to be gathered for free), where the gameplay is more challenging without any replenishing sun unless specific plants are used.

Later levels are nighttime pool levels (where fog fills the right half of the screen except when specific plants are used), a lightning storm level in pitch black (except when illuminated by occasional flashes of lightning), and rooftop levels (where a slanted roof renders most offensive plants useless).

Plants V's Zombies

On the final level, the player must face a huge robot operated by a zombie who takes the form of a mad scientist known as Dr. Zoomboss.

At different stagers throughout the game, the player is either warned through a letter by zombies or their neighbor, Crazy Dave, to prepare for an ambush, where the game takes on a bowling style, using wallnuts to bowl down zombies, or a modified version of regular levels, where random plant types come upon a conveyor belt, and the player can use the plants without spending any sun. Plants v's Zombies

The player starts with a limited number of seed pack types and seed pack slots that they can use during most levels. The number of slots can be increased through purchases with in-game money.

At the start of a level, the player is shown the various types of zombies to expect and given the opportunity to select which seed packs to take into the level.

Certain plants are highly effective against specific types of zombies, such as the Magnet-shroom, which can remove metallic items from a zombie, such as helmets, buckets, ladders, and pogo sticks.

Plants may be placed on any available square of lawn, on lily pads floating in a pool, or in flowerpots on a rooftop; these last two items may be chosen as a seed pack for their respective level types and deployed to increase the usable planting space.

Plants Vs ZombiesThe zombies also come in a number of types that have different attributes, in particular, speed, damage tolerance, and abilities. Zombies include those wearing makeshift armor, those who can jump or fly over plants, and a dancing zombie able to summon other zombies from the ground.

At various points, the player will be inundated with a huge wave of zombies. If a zombie reaches the end of a lane, a lawnmower will shoot forward and destroy all the zombies in that lane.

However, if a zombie reaches the end of that same lane for a second time, it will reach the player’s house. When this happens, the music changes and the other plants and zombies stop moving while that zombie enters the house.

Crunching sounds will be heard, accompanied by a scream and a message saying “The zombies ate your brains!”. The game will then end and display the Game Over dialog box along with an option to retry the level or return to the main menu at the upper-right side of the screen.

Game modes

The primary game mode is Adventure Mode in which the player can earn money to spend at an in-game store to buy new seed packets and other bonuses.

In the Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and Nintendo DS versions, there is also a Co-Op mode, as well as 2 Player Mini-Games and a Versus mode (only Versus mode in the Nintendo DS version & Xbox Live Arcade).

The Adventure Mode consists of 5 different areas and 50 different area levels. They are shown with the area number first, followed by the level number in the game.

Each level in this model has a certain amount of flags and one final wave. The adventure mode is the first game mode and is also the main mode. Every 5th level will be a mini-game, while the 10th level will be a conveyor level.

When and if the player plays through it a second time, Crazy Dave will pick 3 random seeds that the player must use based on the zombies and area they are in every level, this is, of course, optional but it can assist the player in getting more of the in-game currency.

Mini-games are unlocked during the Adventure mode and are mostly for fun.

Puzzles Mode consist of 18 levels from 2 different “modes”, Vasebreaker, where you break vases that either contains a plant seed or a zombie.

Zombie Mode is  where you create zombies to destroy cardboard cutouts of plants.

On iOS and Android versions, there’s also a third mode called Last Stand that similar to the level with the same name from the Mini-Game Mode but with different zombies in each wave.

Survival is the second-largest game mode in Plants vs Zombies. Survival is the last game mode in the game itself. There is also a page of canceled mini-games called the Limbo Page which can be accessed using the Cheat Engine.

The game also features a Zen Garden, where players can care for plants they previously purchased from Crazy Dave’s Twiddydinkies or occasionally dropped by zombies. Plants will grow only when the game has been running for enough time.

Zombies director George Fan intended on balancing the game between a “gritty” game and a “sickeningly cute” game.

He was inspired to make it a tower defense game after both thinking of a more defense-oriented version of a previous title of his, Insaniquarium, and playing some Warcraft III tower defense mods.

While he was looking at the towers in Warcraft III, he felt that plants would make good towers. He wanted to bring something new to the genre with new Plants vs.Zombies 3 released this year, 2020.

In Conclusion, Plants vs. Zombies (PVZ) is a tower defence video game developed and originally published by PopCap Games for Microsoft Windows and OS X. The game involves a homeowner using a variety of different plants to prevent an army of zombies from entering their house and “eating their brains”.

Zombies (Basic Zombie in Plants vs. Zombies 2) and their world-themed variants in Plants vs. Zombies 2 are the most basic “zombie” units. In fact, they take three shots for a Melon-pult to kill one of them or ten peas. Having no special defensive equipment or travel abilities, these zombies are susceptible to any type of attack.

They are found in most levels and are the first zombies the player encounters in every Plants vs. Zombies game.

At the official start of a level, a siren noise will appear and one will say “the zombies… are coming…” and moan, signalling that the zombies are about to come.

The Conehead Zombie, Buckethead Zombie, Screen Door Zombie, Trash Can Zombie, Camel Zombies, Blockhead Zombie, Knight Zombie, Bug Zombie, and Jurassic Fossilhead become this zombie when their armour is destroyed.

Feisty may be a word for somebody who is  touchy or argumentative. It may also mean “showing bravery or determination.” If you are huffy or puffy, you are feisty.

Feisty individuals typically appear to be ready for a fight. On the opposite hand, it may be a positive trait when going into an argument.

Each one of these pet plush changes expression from cute to ‘feisty’ once you gently squeeze it behind the ears. No batteries or extras necessary. enamour and entertain any audience, young or recent with these distinctive and animated animals!

Every year, there appears to be some style of Christmas-themed toy that makes the world a brighter place to live. In 2016, Feisty Plushie Pets toy came onto the market. After viewing this toy myself, I couldn’t help but think “why would you give a child this? But it was also kind of funny too.

If toys are used for interaction one has to question the purpose behind these toys. Every child is different and discretion is required when choosing this toy.

Some of the most common participants of scary pranks are parents scaring their own children. They might not consciously be preparing them to survive battle with zombies and ghosts, but they’ve given them preparation for other challenges with the associated being scared – probably a future work colleague.

I kinda get this but I still to ask myself “why”?

Feisty Pets were created by the William Mark Corporation, however they are not the supplier to the general public. Instead, different outlets like ThinkGeek are the suppliers. Why do they need to sell it?

Feisty Plushie Pets go from cute to feisty with simply a squeeze to the rear of the pinnacle. Choose between 4 animals: bear, dog, cat and monkey – and more animals are presently in production. Which one do o you like the most?

There are no batteries for this, it makes no noises or does anything else. It’s essentially a stuffed bear that may be modified to seem ravenous (as long as you are holding the mechanism) and might modification back to seem innocent.

How Do Scary Plushie Affect Children.

Sigmund Freud claimed that children fantasise about dolls coming to life. Psychologist Ernst Jentsch theorized that uncomfortable or uncanny feelings arise when there is an intellectual uncertainty about whether or not an object is alive, and also that when an object one knows to be inanimate resembles a living being enough to generate confusion about its nature. Japanese roboticist Mashiro Mori expanded on the theories of Freud and Jung to develop the “uncanny valley” hypothesis.

The uncanny valley the relates to that moment in time when the child realises that its scary and then oh its not real. That gap can be large for some children and short for other children.

Psychologists say scaring children by their parents can have damaging consequences on their future.

Making children afraid by parents and other family members is quite common. Whenever children play, cry or act naughty their parents sometime create fear as a way of deterring the behaviour.

Some scare their little one by naming some imaginary characters, some others shout and some hit or tell that they will have some diabolical consequence if the behaviour continues. Zahra, 20, a student, said: “When I was a little child, my mother would scare me no to go out in dark or I will face goblin, monster. These things still haunt me though I have grown up.”

She said the practice of scaring children by their parents remained common in most families without knowing its consequences.

“Most families scare their children with words like: ‘Dog is coming to bite you. Do not go out of home or evil women would take you away in order to make them stop crying or eat food,” she said, adding that using such words caused emotional insecurity in children’s minds and could prove dangerous in future.

Tamanna, 18, a high school graduate, also said she her childhood memories were not too good because her mother would shout at her when she would act naughty. She said now she was well grown but still she was not a courageous person and did not feel good among crowds and new people. Marwa, a 13 years old girl, remembered: “Once I frightened my cousin who was then two and a half years old.

“My cousin’s hands, feet and lips crooked, her eyes were open, she could not talk, she was immoveable for several minutes. We scrubbed her feet and chest and sprayed water on her face and finally she came into senses.”

Alia, a mother of five children, said she also scared her son, her first born, when he was a baby. Now her son had grown up but he still afraid of dogs and felt uncomfortable among people, she said.

Family teaches children basics of social understanding

Anjila Babakrkhel, a schoolteacher and mother of five children, said: “I have always tried not to place fear in my children’s minds, whatever they do, I do not make them scared. I softly tell them do not do this, if something is fearful for children, I explain it how simple is it.”

Mohammad Ehsan, father of three children and a resident of Kabul, saidL “I had never scared my children and also do not let my wife scare them. Fear makes children coward, I have seen people who were frightened in childhood lack no social courage.”

Frightening children results into unwanted consequences.

Psychologists warn that besides other dangerous consequences, scaring children sometimes cause babies’ hearts to stop beating and lose lives.

Mohammad Naser Habibi, a psychologist in Kabul University, said families frightened children to prevent them from playing and make them quiet or stop demanding something.

He said scaring children caused mental problems, lack of courage, fear and weakness among them. Habibi asked families, particularly parents, to avoid making their children afraid and denying their rights.

Rohullah Rezwani, who teaches psychology in a university, said whatever children heard from their parents and elders, they believed it the rule of life. Frightening impacted children’s habits of sleep, eating, relations and others and isolated them from others, he said.

Scaring children may also cause enuresis, emotions, heart pain, problems in breathing and other problems, he said, adding parents should learn positive methods of treating and training their children.

He asked the media, scholars, the Ministry of Education and teachers to create awareness among parents about right training of their children.

How to Spot a Fake Pokemon Plush

How to Spot a Fake Pokemon Plush

Merchandise is a significant part of the commercial arm of the pokemon plushHow to Spot a Fake Pokemon Plush market. Pokémon plush collecting remains a favourite past-time, with active communities on Livejournal, Reddit, and other social media platforms. This has generated, of course, a stream of counterfeit merchandise. That fake Espeon might be cute, but it does have negative impacts on the broader fan base, as PokeVault.com’s Brian Grabow explains:  “When someone buys a knock-off,” he reported earlier this year, “it hurts the pokemon plushHow to Spot a Fake Pokemon PlushPokémon Center and Nintendo’s sales, so they end up raising prices to make up for lost revenue. Due to the increased number of imitations, they’ve also raised prices. Some items have more than doubled in price.”

If you’re a collector, there are a few things you can do to ensure you’re buying authentic plush, and thereby supporting the creators.

Here is an example;

spot the fake

1.Fake Pokemon plush fall into 4 categories;

When you buy plush it generally falls in the following categories:

  1. licensed merchandise,
  2. counterfeit,
  3. factory reject, or
  4. fan made.

Under the terms of a merchandise license, the owner of the image or text (the licensee) is usually paid an advance and a royalty based on a percentage of income from sales. The company selling the merchandise (the licensee) must meet certain obligations including payments, quality control and enforcement of rights. Quality can vary greatly, with Target and BigW selling mass-produced plush that are often made of harsher fabrics. However plush sold at official pokemon plushHow to Spot a Fake Pokemon Plush in Pokémon Centers tend to have ultra-soft material, high-quality stitching, and extreme attention to detail. Take this “Liberty Pikachu” plush, which was part of the 2016-2017 Around the World campaign:

spot the fake

The torch is in the shape of a Litwick, the tablet she holds is emblazoned with Unwon, and her tail is heart-shaped, indicating that we’re specifically looking at a female Pikachu. This is a level of detail rarely seen in fake products.

If you bought a suspiciously cheap plush from eBay, however, you may have purchased a counterfeit.

This second category is, unfortunately, extremely common on sites like Amazon and eBay. They’re adorable, yes, but they’re also illegal, and there’s no guarantee they’ve passed through safety protocols. South Korea alleges that half a million counterfeit pokemon plushHow to Spot a Fake Pokemon Plush seized at customs were contaminated with harmful chemicals.

These plush look authentic, but have small defects that made them fail quality control procedures.

spot the fakeAn example would be this Alolan Marowak, which has an elongated neck, an incorrectly cut tag, and discolored fabric on its tail.

Finally, fan made toys are in a class all their own. Type any Pokémon character’s name into Etsy.com, and you’ll find these. Fan creators are bona fide artists, and they’re dedicated to enriching the Pokémon fan base. These individuals aren’t flooding eBay with knock-off toys in a large-scale money grab. Rather, they’re creating a one-of-a-kind piece of art, such as the work of Guardian Earth Plush. spot the fake

Large Pokemon Plush

The Pokemon Center and other famous brands of large Pokemon plushies are for sale. These large size or jumbo size plushies are very popular and usually sell out very fast. This category is for all the Life Size, Giant, Big More and 1:1 size plushies. There are many different types of life-size or huge plush toys of all your favorite characters like Eevee, Mew and many others are sold. These fall victim to imitation pluash.

2. Authentic plush normally sit upright.

Consider how the plush “sits.” Most of the time, officially-licensed toys will sit upright on their own. This isn’t always true, as with the 2017 Halloween campaign Mimikyu, but they are designed with balance in mind. Ears, fins, and spikes should stand up straight.

3. Authentic plush has high quality stitching.

Consider the quality of the stitching. Are all the lines even? Do all the seams fit together neatly? Are details painted on and cracking due to wear, or are they actually sewn into the fabric?

These two Vaporeon are a perfect example of quality stitching and “sit.” Can you tell which is counterfeit?

The Vaporeo on the spot the fakeleft have fake’s droopy fins, absence of toes, and lines painted (rather than stitched) onto its neck fin. These are tell-tale signs that the product is counterfeit.

4. Authentic plush have original authentic swing tag.

Examine the swing tag. During production, every factory is given a set number of swing tags (attached with that funny “T”-shaped plastic) for the plush. Warning signs include dull, faded colors, misspelled words, and a circular tag, which is very easy to replicate. spot the fake

5. Copyright tags are stitched to the bottom.

Examine the copyright tag stitched to the bottom. Just because it says “Pokémon Center” doesn’t mean the item you’re holding is legitimate. Is the text faded or lopsided? Does it contain spelling errors? Is one side in Japanese and the other side in Chinese? These are all warning signs that you may have a counterfeit plush.

6. Fake plush have faults in design & appearance.

spot the fake

Beware sloppy overall design. This pokemom has several loose strings and an off-center nose.

On the back of the plush, there’s visible hot glue. This gives a sloppy appearance that would have gotten it pulled from store shelves.

The Eeveelutions, such as Espeon, are among the most commonly counterfeited characters.

7. Factory seconds bleed cotton stuffing.

Don’t purchase anything that’s bleeding cotton stuffing. Rips and tears suggest that the item you’ve purchased is a factory reject. Sure, they might be from the same production line as genuine merch, but many of these plush were illegally stolen out of the trash.

8. Pokemon Tags are often copied.

Now that the “Poképlush tag” is the most commonly copied. South Korea’s arcades are flooded with knock-off merchandise that boast this tag, which actually hasn’t been in use since 2007. Often, the pennant-style tag will be off-color, slightly faded, and bent.

9. Patterns are commonly copied from China, Hong Kong and Korea.

If you’re buying a plush online, check which country the seller is registered in. In 2017, many Pokémon Center plush were manufactured in the Philippines or Vietnam, but sold only in Japan. Pop-up stores in South Korea sold them as well, but with a Korean-language sticker on the tags. PokeVault.com explains that most knock-offs originate from China or Hong Kong, where counterfeiters have easy access to design patterns or defective product.

10. Do a google comparison with PokemonCentre.com before buying.

Before buying a plush, do a Google search. There are plenty of collecting communities present online, so use them! A quick Google search of the character’s name and “plush” should bring fourth several results. Does your plush look extremely similar to the ones found on PokemonCenter.com, or is it closer to a suspiciously cheap one on eBay? A quick comparison can save you anywhere from $10 to $100.

Mandalorian Baby YodaHasbro is committed to making the world a better place for children and their families through corporate social responsibility and philanthropy. Hasbro ranked No. 13 on the 2019 100 Best Corporate Citizens list by CR Magazine and has been named one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies® by Ethisphere Institute for the past nine years.

We routinely share important business and brand updates on our Investor Relations website, Newsroom and social channels (@Hasbro on Twitter and Instagram.) But the situation around the coronavirus remains fluid, Goldner (Company CEO) stressed, “as certain markets are closing while others are still open and robust.”

For example, Hasbro employees in Hong Kong are back working remotely after a recent surge in cases in the semi-autonomous region, Goldner said.

Goldner said demand for Hasbro’s games, such as Monopoly and Operation, and Play-Doh have been particularly strong. He said the company is also planning new products in response to the widespread “stay-at-home” directives being issued across the country.

“This week we’ll launch a program called ‘Bring Home the Fun,’ trying to give parents and caregivers the resources they need to keep kids occupied to help them get educated and keep creativity going on,” he said.

Before the coronavirus turned into a full-scale public health emergency, toy makers appeared to be on the road to recovery following a difficult couple of years. Hasbro (NASDAQ:HAS), Mattel (NASDAQ:MAT), and others had suffered from the bankruptcy of Toys R Us as the retailer’s shutdown meant the loss of a major seller of their toys. Concerns about the trade war between the U.S. and China, where about 70% of all toys are made according to IBIS World research, didn’t help matters.

As it turned out, toymakers managed the loss of Toys R Us, tariffs didn’t crush earnings, and a rebound was afoot. The NPD Group, in a fall report, predicted total U.S. toy industry dollar sales would gain in 2020, and this positive momentum would continue through next year. But as the coronavirus outbreak worsened over the past few weeks, it became clear that 2020 may not be as bright for toymakers as some had hoped.

Recent messages from Hasbro and Mattel weren’t as grim. During Hasbro’s latest earnings call, the company said there has been disruption to the supply chain, but so far, effects on the business are small. Hasbro also said it would make up for lost productivity in order to meet demand later in the year. During its earnings callMandalorian Baby Yoda

Mattel shared much of the same message. Both companies said the first quarter is historically a light one in terms of sales. That means any headwinds from coronavirus are less problematic now than they would be during other times of the year. Still, both toymakers said the full effect of coronavirus on business will be determined by the duration of the outbreak.

If the outbreak worsens, the damage will be significant. Though Hasbro is making an effort to reduce its reliance on China, the company said in the earnings call that two-thirds of its products are still sourced there. Mattel doesn’t specify how heavily it relies on China, but its production in several countries may mitigate coronavirus risk. In its 2018 annual report, Mattel said it produces toys in many facilities in various countries — China and five others — in case a problem in one location disrupts production.

Hasbro and Mattel both reported fourth-quarter results that beat analysts’ estimates on the bottom line. Hasbro saw strength in Star Wars and Frozen 2 toys, while Mattel saw an increase in sales of Hot Wheels, action figures, and games. In spite of those positive trends, shares of Hasbro and Mattel declined 24% and 19% in February, respectively.

Mandalorian Baby Yoda

But toymakers have an additional concern — the holidays. Toy retailers can generate 30% of their annual sales during the holiday shopping season, according to The National Retail Federation. While Christmas may seem far off to most of us, Isaac Larian, CEO of privately-held toymaker MGA Entertainment, told Yahoo Finance television that for the 2020 holiday season, the damage has already been done. Chinese factories usually start holiday toy production in February and ship in April, he said. Considering the current situation, Larian expects toy industry sales to fall 6% to 8% this year.

The Early Days of Steiff Teddy Bears

Steiff Teddy Bears company is over 120 years old.

Steiff Teddy Bears
Steiff Teddy Bears

The toy was first created in 1902 and was named after  Theodore Roosevelt. A childhood favourite has reached a ripe old age – the teddy bear is 100 years old. Now the teddy is big business.

Steiff produced black bears after the Titanic disaster. At the same time, a factory in Germany owned by seamstress Margarete Steiff began making a soft plush, jointed bear – with a trademark button in the left ear.

In 1903, the company exported 3,000 bears to America. Daniel Agnew, a specialist from Christie’s, said the bears on sale on Tuesday were more than childhood toys. He explained the hobby of collecting bears had become more and more popular in recent years. “In the 1970s and 80s, it became a big collecting subject,” he said. “Steiff was always the most expensive and is consequently the most valuable now.

Born in Giengen, Germany, Margarete was the daughter of building contractor Friedrich Steiff . Doctors finally diagnosed Margarete with polio.[wiki] after 3 years of illness. Margarete regularly attended school throughout her childhood and in spite of the pain in her right hand, went to the needlework classes of Frau Schelling where she completed her training as a seamstress at the age of 17. She occasionally worked with her sisters, who had opened a women’s tailors.[wiki]

Her savings allowed her to buy a sewing machine, the first owned in the town of Giengen, and this led to another opportunity to earn income. Margarete worked on trousseau for the town folk and by her mid-twenties was making fashionable clothes and traveling to other towns to work and visit family.

In 1892, her small company applied for a patent “for making of animals and other figures to serve as playthings”. The patent number was DRP 66996, but this was later withdrawn when contested by another German toy manufacturer.

Margarete’s brother Fritz realised that there was an opportunity to sell large numbers of these toy animals and he took some samples to the market in Heidenheim, coming away with many orders. Production and turnover increased each year as did the variety of toys on offer. Pull-along and ride-on toys were also added with the development of metal frames inside the toys.

By 1889, the company moved into a larger building, which had a corner shop where the toys and fabric could be displayed for sale. The words “Felt-Toy-Factory” were painted in large letters on the outside wall. Next came a printed catalogue for customers to order from, and the business grew.

In 1902, Richard Steiff designed “Bear 55 PB”, the first soft toy with movable joints, which was to become the first teddy bear.

By 1903, a large shipment of toys had been sent to a New York showroom, but there was not much interest in the plush toy bears that were displayed there. In March 1903, Richard Steiff took jointed soft toy bears to a spring fair in Leipzig, where they caught the eye of an American buyer, who ordered 3000 bears. From then on, “Bear 55 PB” became a bestseller in the United States – a remarkable achievement for a small German business from the Swabian Albs. Starting in 1906, the bear became known under the name “Teddy Bear”, named after the American President Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt.[Wiki]

The Steiff Teddy Bear quickly turned into a family business as Fritz’s kids entered their auntie’s business in 1903. As per June 1988 article in Antiques and Collecting magazine, two of Gretle’s nieces started working for the company. Yet, it was Fritz’s six children who took initiative in the business.

The oldest, Richard, joined the firm during the 1890’s. He acquainted Steiff items with the globally famous Leipzig toy in 1894 and planned a zoo-loaded with creatures after the 1900’s. Richard’s sibling Franz, a materials expert, joined the organization as a chairman in 1898. Paul turned into a creator with the family firm in 1899, Otto went ahead board as a universal merchant and publicizing pro around 1900, and Hugo assumed responsibility for quality control in 1906.

Steiff Teddy Bears

Consequently this cohesive family carried on the tradition after Franz died in 1908 and Margarete in 1909. Hugo and Otto were chosen co-overseeing executives, while Richard and Paul carried on their work on the imaginative side of the organization.

A 6th kin, Ernst Steiff, at long last joined the firm in 1927. Established a reputation as a generous employer, and Margarete nephews carried on that tradition after her passing. Among other benefits, the company offered low-rent apartments and low-interest mortgages to its staff, which by 1909 numbered nearly 3,000.

Steiff Teddy Bear  and Growth in the 20th Century

Though the company had begun making stuffed bears as early as 1892, the “teddy” bears for which the toy maker would become world-famous did not come into play until after the turn of the 20th century. Among the zoo animals Richard Steiff designed in 1902 was a bear with jointed arms and legs. Little did the family know that U.S. political cartoonist Clifford Berryman had by that time touched off a craze that would help launch the company’s biggest selling toy of all time.

The incident arose in 1902, when U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt went on a four-day bear hunt in Mississippi. The president’s hosts had captured a bear cub and tied it to a tree to ensure that their esteemed guest would get a kill on his outing. Roosevelt surprised his hosts when he refused to shoot the ursine youngster, and Berryman immortalized “Teddy’s Bear” in a cartoon for the Washington Post.Steiff Teddy Bears

Whenever Berryman featured the president in a drawing, there too was the little bear. American toymakers, most notably the Ideal Company, rushed to churn out teddy bear toys, but the Steiff bears had already earned the distinction of being first. Ironically, not one of the original (and unmarked) 3,000 Steiff bears brought to the United States is known to exist.

In 2015, Steiff Teddy Bears company meets RIMOWA

Two traditional German companies join forces for a limited suitcase edition. The classic aluminum case from the Cologne case manufacturer RIMOWA is not only adorned with a drawing of the Steiff bear on the outside, the interior of the case is also designed with gray alpaca typical of Steiff. Worldwide, only 1050 of these cases are sold in RIMOWA stores and 250 more in the Steiff shops. Similar to Aurora Plush the company needed to stay flexible in a growing competitive market.

Fast Forward  to 2018

Steiff receives the Disney Heritage Award – The first cooperation between Disney and Steiff came about in 1931. Many fascinating, detailed plush toys followed. This year Steiff receives a very special honor: the Disney Heritage Award.

2017/2018 – The expansion continues….

With the opening of six more Steiff shops and flagship stores in 2017/2018 in Munich (2), Mannheim, Ludwigsburg, Sylt / Westerland, Bremen and Frankfurt and the launch of further Steiff web shops in France and the Benelux countries, the expansion continues.Steiff Teddy Bears

13/01/2020 – Steiff Shop Berlin is moving.

A new Steiff shop will open near the Hackescher Markt in Berlin on Thursday, January 16, 2020. The shop, which was previously located at Leipziger Platz in the Mall of Berlin, will move there.

An important part remains, however, because shop manager Heike von Malottki-Exner and the shop team also move into the new location. No wishes remain unfulfilled on a sales area of 150 square meters. In addition to the world-famous plush toys with the “button in the ear”, current baby and children’s fashion in sizes 50 – 122 and gift ideas for young and old, there is also something new to discover in the shop.

Though the company had begun making stuffed bears as early as 1892, the craze launched the company’s biggest selling toy of all time – the Steiff Teddy Bear in 1903. Named after Theodore Roosevelt the Teddy Bear lives on as strong as ever. In addition to the world-famous plush toys with the “button in the ear”, current baby and children’s fashion in sizes 50 – 122 and gift ideas for young and old, there is also something new to discover in every store.

Bluey – A Popular Plush in Australia

Bluey is an curious six year-old Blue Heeler dog, who loves to play.Bluey - A Popular Plush in Australia Bluey was renewed for a second series on TV in 2019, which is scheduled to premiere in March 2020.

Every day is an adventure with Bluey’s family and friends. Bluey’s character has a creative imagination whilst showing resilience in growing emotional, physical and mental strength. This cartoon character called Bluey was originally created in Queensland and the cartoon sets and scenes are from some great Aussie settings.

The hit Australian preschool show Bluey was been nominated for an International Emmy in the International Emmy Kids Awards in August 2019. A total of 28 nominated programs in seven categories from 15 countries were announced at the Mipcom television market, which is held annually in Cannes, France.

Bluey, which is produced by the Queensland production company Ludo Studio, was nominated in the preschool category, up against Germany’s Animanimals, Chile’s Petit and South Korea’s SuperWings Mission Teams.

Bluey - A Popular Plush in Australia

“The geographic spread and diversity of topics addressed in this year’s nominated programs attest to the vibrancy and quality of children’s television throughout the world,” Bruce Paisner, the president and CEO of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, said. The winners will be announced next March.

The Bluey TV series is also available through Disney channels in paid TV.

One of the best episodes of Bluey, in my opinion, was when Bluey and Bingo (Bluey’s sister) get their granny to learn the Flossing dance moves so Blueys sister could see that old people can dance. Flossing is featured in the 2017 video game Fortnite Battle Royale, developed and published by Epic Games, as a limited-time dance “emote” as a reward from the Battle Pass Season 2 that can be performed by the characters while playing. Flossing has become popular in schools due to the popularity of Fortnite and because of support from parents and administrators, as flossing can be seen as lacking the relative eroticism seen in other dance moves popular with young people. In 2018, flossing has been further popularized by this episode of Bluey.

Bluey lives with her father, Bandit; mother, Chilli; and younger sister, Bingo, who regularly joins Bluey on adventures as the pair embark on imaginative play together.

Dad is a stay at home dad who tackles the day to day issues that modern families can relate to. Bluey’s Mum (Chilli), works part-time as an airport security guard, and is the voice over local actor Melanie Zanetti (Tidelands, The Family LaBlueyw), who will star in L’Appartment for Queensland Theatre 2020.

In addition to all the excitement with this TV series, these lovable characters are coming to you live on stage in Australia in 2020.The favourite children’s’ show are now visiting more than 50 venues throughout Australia. The show follows the experiences of a this boundless six-year-old Blue Heeler little girl, who wants to design expand games and bring her family and the entire neighborhood into her universe of fun.

Bluey’s Big Play will captivate the audience of Australia’s preferred TV family show in a show on stage. It will be filled with fun loving, clever and somewhat brazen events. On stage Bluey’s family will, vows to be a magnificent event for youngsters and their adults.

Frequently Asked Questions –

Plush Toys For Happy Dogs

Why do I need a squeaky toy?

Like other toys for dogs, squeaky toys can be an essential part of you pup’s playtime. They can help keep your dog occupied and distracted while you’re away or busy with other tasks. They can help promote healthy jaws and teeth. And they can physically and mentally stimulate canines by giving them something to focus their attention on. Squeaky toys are especially good for this, since they’ll provide some auditory stimulation, too.

Which squeaky toy is best for my dog?

This depends on what type of dog you have, how old they are, and what their activity level is. Some squeaky toys are plush, making them a good choice for gentler dogs that need the added comfort — but a poor choice for larger or more aggressive dogs, since they’re liable to pull out the stuffing. Other squeaky toys are designed to be thrown around, making them ideal for particularly active dogs. And some squeaky toys are more durable than others, making them best for dogs with big bites.

Amazon’s Best Interactive Plushie in 2020

In recent years plush has become very intelligent. Yes, artificial intelligence has entered the plush toy market.

The top selling interactive plush on Amazon AU can be found at the end of this article. But first let me tell you a bit about the development of this technology.

Modern smart toys started in history with the eighteenth and nineteenth century cuckoo clocks, music boxes of the nineteenth century, and Disney audio-animatronics of the twentieth.

Perhaps the biggest early contribution is from novelty and toy makers from the 1800s who made automatons such as Vaucanson’s mechanical duck, von Kempelen’s The Turk, and the Silver Swan.  All pre-twentieth-century precursors had in common that they had mechanical parts. By the second half of the 1900s toys featuring built-in media players became common.

For example, Mattel introduced a variety of dolls in the 1960s and 1970s that used a pull string activated talking device to make the dolls “talk” such as the talking Crissy doll and Chatty Cathy.

The first talking plush was a teddy bear called  Teddy Ruxpin, the iconic talking bear from the late ’80s. He has made a come back and he’s flaunting some timely upgrades. The toy bear made a splash when he launched in 1985. He was a first-of-its-kind animatronic toy with motorized eyes and mouth, and he told stories through a cassette player (remember those?) in his back.

It was created by Ken Forsse with later assistance by Larry Larsen and John Davies and the first version of the toy was designed by the firm RKS Design. Later versions used a digital cartridge in place of a cassette. At the peak of its popularity, Teddy Ruxpin became the best-selling toy of 1985 and 1986, and the 2006 version was awarded the 2006 Animated Interactive Plush Toy of the Year award by Creative Child Magazine. A cartoon based on the characters debuted in 1986.

The Jim Henson Company

In 2018, it was announced that Alchemy and The Jim Henson Company would make a new Teddy Ruxpin TV series. The series would be animated in a digital puppetry form and would be aimed at preschoolers.

In 2019, it was announced that The Jim Henson Company would be distributing the series under the Henson Independent Properties banner.

However, it remained until the introduction of the microprocessor in the mid-1970s for smart toys to come into their own.

Texas Instruments

Texas Instrument’s Speak & Spell which came on the market in the late 1970s was one of the first full-featured smart toys. The device is similar to a very limited laptop with LED read-out. It is used for spelling games and guessing a “mystery code”. It speaks and makes a variety of sound effects.

Smarty Bear

Ralph H. Baer, creator of popular electronic toys such as Simon and Maniac, developed an interest in improving the technology used in talking toys. The collection of Baer’s papers in the Brian Sutton-Smith Library and Archives of Play at The Strong includes a series of documents that recount the development process of his Smarty Bear, licensed by Lewis Galoob Toys in 1986.

Smarty Bear differentiated itself from other talking toys on the market by interacting directly with children and answering their questions. Smarty Bear also laughed when tickled, protested when turned upside-down, and fell asleep when ignored. Baer’s materials on the creation of Smarty Bear include schematics, notes, photographs, correspondence, patents, and scripts for the phrases the toy exclaimed.

Not to be outdone by other talking bears, Smarty Bear featured available add-ons. The Smarty Box, an interactive video system, played VHS cassettes starring Smarty’s nephew Argyle. One of the first toys to incorporate specially encoded video cassettes, Smarty Bear would interact with the cartoons, helping to solve dilemmas while taking the viewer on educational adventures.

What best distinguishes a smart toy is the way the on-board intelligence is holistically integrated into the play experience in order to create simulated human-like intelligence or its facsimile.

A smart toy is a toy that has a degree of artificial intelligence and can adjust the way it interacts with the user, react to external stimuli and behave according to pre-programmed patterns. The level of intelligence these toys have varies widely, with some able to use voice recognition, touch sensors and smartphone apps to interact with users.

One of the earliest attempts at a toy with ambitions to include the principles of AI was the Furby, which became the first economically successful domestic robot to be sold to consumers upon its launch in 1998.

Children receiving one of the in-demand toys would open the box to find that the Furby spoke only in ‘Furbish’, a synthetic language made up of short phrases and sounds.

Intended to replicate the process of learning a language, the Furby would ‘learn’ more English phrases over time, with the ability to learn certain words and phrases more quickly in response to positive reinforcement from the child.

Petting the Furby while it said a particular phrase would encourage it to repeat it again in the future.

There’s a huge variety of smart toys and child-friendly AI gadgets on the market at the moment, including the cutesy Anki Cosmo robot, the trainable robo-pup Aibo, and even Amazon’s Echo Dot kids’ edition. Frankly, there’s never been a better time to delve into the world of connected toys.

Part of their popularity (aside from the whole “wow, look how cool this is” aspect) is the fact that playing with them can actually be really beneficial to children’s development, particularly in terms of introducing them to electronic devices in an increasingly connected environment.

Learning and AI Plush

Aside from preparing children for a high tech future by allowing them to code and program, smart toys can also help them to learn about social interaction, which is particularly useful to children on the autism spectrum who may find it challenging to interact with strangers. There has been many studies done on the benefits interactive toys and development of communication skills. Toys assisted with learning to communicate effectively in the real world by imaginative play. Acting out scenarios with a toy can assists the child gain confidence with social skills and language.

If you are happy with the security of the AI toys you’re buying for your children, their prevalence does throw up some ethical questions. A large part of a child’s development lies in their ability to engage in creative play, where their imagination is the most important plaything they own.

This is why many child development experts prefer ‘open-ended’ toys to rigidly programmed AI toys, like building blocks and dolls. In the hands of a child, even a cardboard box can be a fairy castle, a pirate ship or a rocket to the moon.

It’s even possible that AI toys, specifically humanoid robots, can have an effect on the way children behave, particularly in terms of compliance and following instructions. With AI toys continuing to soar in popularity, it’s clear that lawmakers, manufacturers, and consumers need to work together to ensure that children can reap the benefits from an early introduction to technology while staying safe.
